About the Artist and Teacher
I was a journeyman art teacher. These are a few highlights:
* Selected as Teacher-of-the-Year when teaching in Spain in 1991 and also while teaching in Quantico, Virginia, in 1999.
* Received Washington Post Education Foundation Grant in January, 1998.
* Published articles about student art projects I developed in Arts & Activities Magazine.(See "Articles" link.)
* Upon their request, I developed the first high school art exhibit in the headquarters building of the National Geographic Society in Washington D.C.
* Honorable mention published in National Geographic Magazine in January 2000. (See "Articles" link)
I truly believe everyone is capable of creating beautiful and meaningful art. If you are interested in experiencing an artistic medium such as pen and ink, oil pastels, drawing, collage, or stained glass creation, I would be happy to provide you with the materials and art instruction tailored to your interests.
I have considerable experience teaching art in assorted media and would be happy to continue to do so as your personal instructor.
